Marcy Bannor

Marcy Bannor is a graduate of The Goodman School of Drama at The Art Institute
of Chicago and has been performing on stage and teaching theater to students of all
ages since that time. She moved to Houston in 1970 and has performed for local
theaters including A.D. Players, Main Street Theater, Stages, The Ensemble,
Houston Shakespeare Festival, Children’s Theater Festival, Texas Repertory
Theater, Unity Theater, as well as a number of other theaters that are now extinct.
Her voice has also been heard in numerous commercials and anime productions
throughout the years!

She is a certified Theater Arts Teacher in the State of Texas
having worked with grades K through 5 in Spring Branch ISD and at Carter
Academy for The Performing Arts in Aldine ISD. She is currently semi-retired
and is delighted to again be working as a Teaching Artist for Young Audiences of
Houston as she had done from the late 70’s off and on through the early 2000’s.
She is also substituting for Ft. Bend ISD which also gives her the opportunities to
continue working with young people - something she loves!

Marcy has two children and three grandsons and, although she has loved her involvement in
theater and teaching over the years, she has found that being a mother and
grandmother are the most fun roles of her life!
