David Maldonado is a Mexican - American visual artist and creative based out of Houston, TX. His inspiration is drawn from the elements and the storytelling of folk art, street culture, and the Mexican muralist movement. The touchstone of his work is based on his experiences growing up and finding an identity in art where a commonplace could be shared with others.

Maldonado has displayed his work professionally since 2016. He has developed a distinctive artistic style that ties together patterns, textiles, graphic and organic elements. Recently David has created over a dozen artistic collaborations with major brands. He has produced nearly twenty public artworks, primarily murals that involve community collaborations.

David can lead mural workshops with youth, so they are a part of the sketching, painting, and overall creation. Sites are also able to commission David for solo work on-site through Young Audiences of Houston.
