Marsha Dorsey-Outlaw
Member of the Texas Commission for the Arts Artist in Education Roster, Marsha enjoyed an extended residency at The Community Artists' Collective. With artist Tierney Malone, she developed self-discovery workshops for young people, a widely popular Coffee Talk series for performing artists, and a successful exhibition at its conclusion. Her public education experience enhanced nutrition and cancer prevention programs at UT M.D. Anderson Cancer Center. She managed the Too Cool to Smoke Outreach Puppet Troupe, which employed performing arts to educate children and their families about the dangers of tobacco exposure. Marsha is a certified enrichment instructor with HISD and has reunited with Young Audiences of Houston through successful school residencies in Harris County and beyond. Exploring world cultures through the uniqueness of their crafts, they explore the form, function and spiritual significance of their tools and honorable adornments. Her fun and encyclopedic survey of world art are both aligned with TEKS and flexible to support multiple disciplines.
