Vickie McMillan

Vickie McMillan is a native Texan who creates breathtaking wildlife and nature paintings that advance global conservation causes. Drawing upon her extensive field study and award-winning photography McMillan’s paintings are both accurate yet stylistic. Her unique style of impasto painting was developed over time to accommodate her disability called Essential Tremors. In order to create fine brush strokes, she has to hold her breath while embracing her hand with the other for steadiness.

She is a donor and an active/lifetime member of many organizations that raise funds to protect our parks, land, and animals while promoting and educating wildlife conservation (HSC, TWA, NRA, CCA, SCI, HOU.SCI, RMEF, HLSR PHASA). Not only are her works of art in demand among discriminating collectors of fine art, but also her large wildlife and nature paintings for corporate buildings. Her latest installation involved two 65 ft. and one 54’ murals for the new Texas Children’s Hospital in The Woodlands, TX. She is also known to bring people together and promote conservation through collaborative outreach art projects involving hundreds of people in the creation of one painting for public installation.
